Simple Steps For A Purchase Mortgage
Step #1
ApplicationGet the process started by answering a few simple planning questions, a couple of fun facts, and fill out the application. You can do so either online, which is faster, or over the phone. Your choice.
Step #2
DocumentsThe next email you will receive will be a list of documents that will be required to complete your mortgage. The faster you provide these, the faster we can pre-approve you. A list of documents is also available [here].
Step #3
Pre-ApprovalIf applicable, we will send you an email with your pre-approval information, namely your maximum mortgage amount. In the event that you have already written an offer you will not receive this email.
Step #4
UnderwritingOnce we receive your purchase documents, the offer to purchase and the MLS listing, we will go to work getting you a mortgage. If we have not done so already we will contact you to discuss lender options.
Step #5
ApprovalOnce we receive your mortgage approval we will review any additional lender conditions, and ask you to collect any remaining documents. We will also arrange an appointment to sign your mortgage documents.
Step #6
Conditions MetOnce the lender has signed off on all of the conditions of your approval, we will advise you that all conditions have been met, and that you can waive your financing conditions. This is when you really get to celebrate!
Step #7
CompletionSit back and relax. You don’t even have to call the lawyer, they will call you to set up an appointment to sign your mortgage docs. If they haven’t called a week prior to your closing date, let us know and we’ll send them a reminder.
Step #8
Lawyer SigningThe last step in the process is to meet your lawyer to sign the paperwork. At this point everything is usually done. But if something isn’t right, let us know and we’ll get it fixed. No big deal. Congrats on your new home!
