Canada’s First B Corp Certified Mortgage Brokerage

After more than two years of realigning or business practices with those of the B Corp movement, Mortgage360 has become the first B Corp certified mortgage brokerage in Canada. B Corps are a new type of company that uses the power of business to solve social and environmental problems. B Corp certification is to business what Fair Trade certification is to coffee or USDA Organic certification is to milk.
There are over 2,200 Certified B Corps around the globe, including Patagonia, Method Cleaners, Fiasco Gelato, and Klean Kanteen. What’s a B Corp?
Think of it this way: USDA certifies organic foods, and Good Housekeeping puts its seal of approval on quality products, like washing machines and skillets. And since 2006, a nonprofit organization called B Lab has been certifying corporations it deems to be concerned about their communities and the environment.
Why is it so important to us?
When we founded Mortgage360 we did so with the intention of being a mortgage company that was better in every way. This started with creating an exceptional experience and being highly engaged in the communities we serve. We started by becoming the first and only non-food service industry partner of Mealshare, an amazing organization that provides a meal to a hungry child anytime a consumer chooses a mealshare item off of a restaurant’s menu. We provided over 4,000 meals through that organization.
Today, our Mortgage That Matters provides $500 to a client’s charity of choice and an ongoing donation for as long as they have their mortgage with our company.
Giving is just in our ethos. B Corp certifies the work we do in the community and creates an even greater level of transparency about what we do.
